Given Grimard’s reputation as a switchgear manufacturer for large Canadian power companies, it received a large contract from Hydro-Québec during the refurbishing of the Carillon generating station: to supply arc-resistant low- and medium-voltage switchgear. The contract also included supplying an arc absorber plenum (exclusive to Grimard) for protection in the event of internal failure, along with the manufacture and supply of a bus duct system.
